OUR KEY PROCESS

The process of hardening of steels at A. J. Heat Treatment is carried out by heating the components of carbon and low alloy steels to temperatures between 810^C to 910^C.

After Hardening, tempering is necessary to reduce the brittleness of hardening and achieve the requisite mechanical properties. The material is reheated to tempering temperature between 150^C to 750^C..

This is a process similar to hardening where material is heated to austenizing temperature and carbon diffusing atmosphere is maintained in a carburising furnace. The carburising is carried out between 900^C to 940^C and Carbonitriding at 810-860 °C.
